Hola Estudiantes!
I'm only 2 weeks away from going to Mexico. I know all of you and I are anxious about the transition, but I know you and Mr. Lehman are going to have a great 3rd quarter together.
I created this site so we can keep in touch during the next 9 weeks. I won't have a computer with me, but there is an internet cafe in the town where I am living and I'll be able to go there and share my stories and photos with you.
I'll want to know all about what you are up too as well, so keep in touch!
The bummer is that you can't do accents or tildes on this site, so when we write in Spanish it will not be our best grammar!

Notice the Honda in the background. There are now about 3-5 of these on the Peninsula. They are used to haul goods, but are way too expensive for the average person!

Here's a batch of cement and bricks. All were carried uphill by wheel barrow - bare feet of course!

the only soccer field is up the river 20 minutes so the kids improvise and play on the beach. The goal is usually in the water. In this case a broom and another stick are acting as the goal! No shoes of course!

I kid you not! This guy is mini! I didn't have my camera when we found the ones that were so big they were eating large crabs!!

Here's the local mercado of Bucerias- most things for sale here are for tourists.

Again -there are no big stores here - this guy makes his living by selling beach toys!
fresh coconut - our new addiction!
For about 15 pesos you can have a man witha machete cut you open a coconut, drink all the liquid and then he'll the shell some more and give you the coconut meat! Muy delicioso!

locals have created a job for themselves. They go out each day and build sand sculptures and then ask for donations to view them.
