It's a town of about 100,000. It's a town full of diversity. There are some very wealthy americans living there and some of the poorest of Mexico. I will be going to a language school called CentroBiligue each morning and working at an orphanage each afternoon (after my siesta!)

Notice the Honda in the background. There are now about 3-5 of these on the Peninsula. They are used to haul goods, but are way too expensive for the average person!

the only soccer field is up the river 20 minutes so the kids improvise and play on the beach. The goal is usually in the water. In this case a broom and another stick are acting as the goal! No shoes of course!

I kid you not! This guy is mini! I didn't have my camera when we found the ones that were so big they were eating large crabs!!

Again -there are no big stores here - this guy makes his living by selling beach toys!
fresh coconut - our new addiction!
For about 15 pesos you can have a man witha machete cut you open a coconut, drink all the liquid and then he'll the shell some more and give you the coconut meat! Muy delicioso!

El Virgen de Guadalupe - the most important religious symbol to most Mexicans
locals have created a job for themselves. They go out each day and build sand sculptures and then ask for donations to view them.
